There are two common reasons why you may receive an error stating that a site doesn't have permission to use Gears:
- You selected Cancel when asked whether or not to allow Gears.
In this case, you should be able to resolve the issue by restarting your browser or, if you're currently signed into the page, by signing out and re-signing in. - The page is included in your 'Denied Sites' list.
To determine whether this is the case, follow these steps:
- Open your web browser.
- Select Tools > Google Gears Settings.
- If you see the site in the 'Denied Sites' section, it won't have permission to use Gears. To remove a site from this list, click the Remove link next to to the site, select Save, and restart your browser.
Note: If you or someone else chooses to never allow a particular page, this choice will always be applied to the page. This means that if a page requires an account, blocking Gears for one account will block Gears for all other accounts on the page.
Additionally, please be aware that Gears Settings need to be applied separately on each browser and computer you use.
